Privacy Policy
tacit has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. We do not collect your personal data — not because we delete it, but because it never reaches us in the first place.
1. Who we are
tacit is developed and operated by Rst.com Inc. (株式会社Rst.com), Japan (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the tacit iOS app handles information.
2. What we collect
Nothing.
tacit does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password. There is no account to create and no profile to fill in. We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party trackers of any kind.
3. Where your information lives
tacit stores two things: which device you are paired with, and whether you have tapped today. Both are held in your own iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit, in the private and shared databases tied to your Apple Account.
We cannot read that data. Apple does not expose the contents of a user’s private or shared CloudKit database to developers, and tacit does not use CloudKit’s public database. Apple’s handling of your iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Today’s signal stops being valid when the date changes. Nothing accumulates: tacit keeps no history, no streaks, no timestamps of past days, and no statistics.
4. What we can see
Only what Apple reports to every developer in aggregate — for example, the number of downloads, and crash reports if you have chosen to share app analytics with developers in your device settings. This information is aggregated or anonymised by Apple and cannot be used to identify you or to see whether you tapped.
5. Notifications
Notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. Their wording is deliberately vague so that nothing meaningful is readable on a lock screen. We do not attach any identifiers to them.
6. Payments
tacit is free. The optional tip is processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never receive your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail — only Apple’s aggregate sales reports.
7. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your information, because we do not hold any. No advertising networks, no data brokers, no analytics providers.
8. Children
tacit is intended for adults in a relationship and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
9. Deleting your data
Unpair from within the app to remove the shared record between the two devices. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. Because we hold nothing on our side, there is no account for us to erase and no deletion request to submit.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
