Most problems are one of the first three below.

Setting up

We can’t get paired

Almost always one of these:

The code expired

A pairing code is valid for ten minutes. Close the screen, tap Create a pair again, and scan the new one.

Do we have to be in the same room?

Only to pair, because one phone has to scan the other’s screen. It takes about thirty seconds and you never have to do it again. After that, distance does not matter at all.

Day to day

I tapped the widget and nothing happened

That is intended. One tap does nothing — you need to tap twice. The first tap only arms the widget, and if you stop there, nothing is sent and nothing leaves your phone. It is what stops a pocket tap from reaching your partner.

Nothing arrives on the other phone

Check, on the phone that should be receiving:

Delivery goes through Apple’s iCloud and push services, so it can take a few seconds and occasionally longer. If a notification is missed entirely, the widget still shows the state — that is exactly why the partner’s dot is on the home screen.

I tapped by accident and it went through

Tap twice again to take it back. Your partner is told that the signal was withdrawn. Nothing is recorded either way.

Can my partner tell that I opened the app?

No. There are no read receipts, no online status, and no way to see whether the other person looked. The only thing that ever crosses over is whether each of you tapped today.

Where is the history?

There isn’t one, on purpose. Everything resets when the date changes, and no streaks, counts, or past days are stored anywhere. An app like this turns into pressure the moment it starts keeping score.

I replaced my iPhone

Pair again on the new device. Unpair from the phone that is still working, then set up the pair as you did the first time.

Privacy and data

What can you see?

Nothing. There are no servers and no accounts. What you tap is stored in your own iCloud, and Apple does not expose that to developers. See the privacy policy for the details.

How do I remove everything?

Unpair in the app to remove the shared record between the two devices, then delete the app. There is no account left behind, because there was never one to begin with.

What shows on the lock screen?

Notification wording is deliberately vague, and the widget shows two dots with no text. Nothing meaningful is readable over your shoulder.

Still stuck?

Open an issue on our public issue tracker. It helps to include your iOS version and which step failed — but never include anything you would not want in a public thread.
